Accessing the board (OTA mode)
Several steps in this guide send you to the FarmBoard’s built-in web page - you’ll see it called OTA mode. It’s a small web page the board hosts over its own Wi-Fi, and it’s where you:
- update firmware (upload an
_OTA.bin), - connect the board to your Wi-Fi and printer for Digital trigger mode, and
- download logs when reporting an issue.
“OTA” stands for over-the-air (firmware updates), but the same page also handles Wi-Fi / printer setup and logs. You’ll come back here a few times, so it’s worth doing once slowly.
Enter OTA mode
Section titled “Enter OTA mode”-
With the FarmBoard powered on, tap 5 times quickly - each tap under about 0.8 s, all within 3 seconds:
- A series - tap the LIMIT SWITCH
- P/X series and H series - tap the outer DOOR BUTTON (on the tilted foot, marked with the FarmLoop logo)
The board starts its own Wi-Fi network and waits.
-
On your phone or laptop, connect to the Wi-Fi network
FarmLoop(password3D-Farmers). -
Open http://farmloop.local in a browser. If that doesn’t resolve, use
http://192.168.4.1.
You’re now on the board’s web page.
OTA mode times out after 5 minutes and the board reboots. Make and save your changes before then - just re-enter (5 quick taps) if it times out.
What’s on the page
Section titled “What’s on the page”| Card | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Firmware Update | Upload an _OTA.bin to flash new firmware - see Firmware → How to OTA update. |
| Printer Connection | Enter your Wi-Fi, printer IP, LAN access code and serial number for Digital (MQTT) trigger mode. |
| Live Serial | The board’s log - Download .txt saves a farmloop_log.txt for support (see Getting logs from the FarmBoard). |
Saving and exiting
Section titled “Saving and exiting”- After changing anything, click the Save button on that card (for example Save Printer Config).
- Click Exit OTA Mode to reboot and apply, or just let the 5-minute timeout do it.
If you can’t reach the page
Section titled “If you can’t reach the page”- Nothing happens after tapping? Taps must be quick - each under ~0.8 s, all 5 within 3 seconds. Slow taps aren’t counted. Watch the LED / serial monitor for tap-count feedback.
farmloop.localwon’t load? Confirm you’re connected to theFarmLoopWi-Fi (password3D-Farmers), then tryhttp://192.168.4.1.- Settings reset after reboot? You didn’t Save, or OTA mode timed out before saving - re-enter and Save promptly.
